Oxford Utd End of Season Review

A trainee reporter from Oxford University Media studies course approached experienced manager Mr. Malcolm outside the Kaseem stadium to discuss end of season plans and beyond.

1) Tell us Mr Malcolm how would you rate your season on a scale of 1-10? And why?

Well that is a tricky one, I would go for a 7, sure the club was saved from relegation but Division 4 is the easiest to gain promotion from and difficult to get demoted from. Haven't been able to do much with the squad as the previous manager while tactically astute managed to throw away most of the clubs funds on a few players who will now have to be sold to balance the books.

2) What has been your brightest spark of the season? Which 3 players have impressed you the most at Oxford.

Young Ruben Rubio has been a revelation 5 goals and 5 assists Anthony Mandrea has a good future , while a raw talent Cody Mcdonald also could play at  a higher level.

3) Are you letting the lads go on holiday individually or have you picked a special destination for a team holiday? What are the plans?

The lads know that most will be found new homes next season , so we have let them chose their own destinations.

4) Are you likely to be busy in the transfer market? And are you likely to be doing your shopping at Lidl, Aldi, Sainsburys or Waitrose over the break?

Once I have a pot of money I will be searching for those bargain basement specials, you get good quality at Aldi and Lidl as well now !

5) Finally do you have any players you think should be going to the World Cup and if so do you think this will have a negative impact on them next season?

Err , no , not unless there are some desperate managers out there.
