Division 2 Player of the Year
There was never going to be any other winner for this award than Nils Petersen. Blackburn are sitting 9 points clear of 2nd placed Derby County with a game to go and Petersen's prowess in front of goal has been a huge factor. Signed from Werder Bremen last summer for £6.7m, he may be in demand from some bigger teams in the summer, especially if Aaron Mc takes him to the World Cup with the Germany squad. In 2nd place in Ipswich Town goalkeeper, Ben Foster whose saves earned the Tractor boys many a point with his tremendous saves and Gary Francis will be hoping of more of the same in a very tight division next season. In 3rd place is a player nobody would've guessed at the start of the season, Emanuel Rivas. Rivas was a snip at only £1.8m, having played his career in the 2nd & 3rd divisions of Italy, Beddows had a feeling that Rivas could do a job and that feeling was right, scoring 22 & assisting 13 in 42 games, but incredibly only starting 8 games which gave him the deserved nickname, "súper suplente"!
