Off the back of 2-4 friendly away victory over Reading, Mansfield manager Edward Richmond tells reporters in a Post Match interview that Mansfield will ‘walk the league to the Division four title’. Reporters were left stunned considering the fortunate circumstances of their promotion from Division five last season. Clearly confused Nottingham reporter Rich Salt was seen eating a bag of his own shit in the corner.
Mansfield is seen as a minnow with their relative squad size and ability compared with the rest of Division four. Only two days earlier confidential sources said that Edward was having private discussions with Tranmere manager Frank and purportedly stated he was concerned about their ability to avoid relegation.
Reporter Lee Dicky Dickson asked Edward if he will walk away from the team if they are not in a playoff position come the end of the season, and he responded with an emphatic 'yes'.
Mansfield fans hit twitter latter that day in reaction to the manager comments.
